Of Snores n Sleep..

Hmm..Is there any way that snoring can be cured, short of going for surgery?! Hubby snores....and he snores real loud! I could never sleep when he's snoring. Even Aidan cannot sleep when he snores!!!! Aidan was awoken by hubby's snores a few times when he was sleeping with us during the weekend mornings..*sigh*.and I'd no choice but to kick hubby out of the room...

I'd tried most of the stuff people recommended. Sleeping on his side is useless. I think he snores louder. Hmm..I think he can snore even if he's sleeping upside down..I jab/kick/punch him ..no effect. I bought him those multi-vits that claim to 'cure' snoring..he ate one, absolutely abhor the taste of it, and threw the whole bottle away. And he has actually lost weight..which I thought will lessen the snoring..but nah..not a single bit! I feel bad actually coz he was banished to the living room couch a couple of times already ..I need some kind of remedy man!

One thing I really admire abt hubby is his ability to sleep anywhere, anytime, any position. He claims it's army trained. I find it so hard to sleep well, unless I have a comfortable bed, no lights/dimmed lights on and a quiet surrounding. Hubby can sleep even there's a contractor upstairs doing work or when Aidan is wailing right next to him(!)

thank god my hubby doesn't really snore but he can sleep anywhere, anytime too. He also claimed its army trained. Ay first quite mad at him cos he'll come over to my mum's place for dinner and move to the couch therafter, within 5 mins he knocked out in the sitting position which I find it quite rude.

Re:
Heh..he does control himself infront of my parents..no matter how bored/tired he is..But at his own parents place or our pals place, he'll be gone whenever he's sitting down comfortably on a sofa or even on the floor.
Well, the only place I wouldn't want him to do so is when he's driving..

I've heard of plugs that can help with the snoring, but i don't know any record of its effectiveness. I snore too, according to the SO, when i'm especially jet lagged. But chances are i'll talk in my sleep more than i'll snore heh. Now THAT has no cure i know of.

Plugs? Hmm..never heard before. Is that to squeeze his nose??
I think most of us snores when we are very tired but his snore is the extremely loud type..there was once he snored in the theatre and it was a quiet scene..wadanz..v embarassing siah!
Talking in ur sleep..heh, now that's interesting!!

Well, if it's sleep apnea, it could be rectified by surgery on the nose..
I've been asking him to ask the docs what can be done abt his snoring but he has been procrastinating *sigh*~~

You Nan Tong Dang
Can we put all our husbands together to form a symphony? Mine snores and doesn't admit till I taped him down with our video cam. Luckily, he stops snoring when I kick him to turn to his side. What I find works is Breathe Right. You can find it at the pharmacies, you know, those plaster looking thing that footballers like to put on their nose?

My hubby shares the same habit of falling asleep anytime, anywhere. In fact, I told him that his fav position is the horizontal position, sleeping, watching tv and even playing with Megan, he lies down, except for when he is shitting, probably...

Erm..mine can sleep on the throne too..with newspaper in the hands *sigh*..

Yes apparently men are "army trained" to sleep anywhere, in any sort of condition. DH can sleep in the weirdest positions. And our good friend Cedric pops off in a matter of seconds in the car, or on the train. It's amazing!

But back to snoring. My helper Emily snores!!! Loudly!!! Every night!!!

BTW, how to put icons in journal entries ah?

Men!
Yeah..I really wonder how they can do that..I mean, even with loud noise, they are still capable of dozing off (!)

Oh no..so do u guys kena awoken by Emily's snore? And she's so skinny (there goes my fat theory)..

Icons - as in those smileys? U use ..I got the smileys from Spug..jus check out the properties of the smileys and voila!

Perhaps you should get him to see an ENT Specialist. They can do a sleep-study where he will be wired up and his sleep / snoring patterns etc. monitored throughout the night. The course of action is usually either a mask or hood attached to some machine or surgery.

There is one surgeon, Dr Peter Lu ... he is the head of ENT at Changi General Hospital. He is quite renowned in this field of Sleep Apnea. You may wish to check him out.
