post weekend update :D~ [v longwinded]

my 2 boys :)

Thankfully, hubby came back from Indonesia on Friday evening..with the digicam intact :P..I think Aidan missed his daddy. He woke up on Wednesday morning weeping miserably. This boy seldom cries..make loads of noise yes, but he's not a frequent cryer..but that morning, he was bawling loudly..and for the next 2 days, he was more irritable and would start wailing for no particular reason. And when his dad came back on Friday evening, he seemed to have recovered from whatever that was bothering him..hmmm..

But I'm sure it's not just him missing his daddy. He was probably teething too coz he was having problem biting his biscuits and will constantly put his fingers into his mouth as a balm for his hurting gums.

Anyway, I am glad my hubby is back , and so is Aidan :)

======================

Yeah..didn't have much 'inspiration' and inclination to update because I didn't have any pics to post...So this entry will be a summary of some of the events from Thursday onwards..

Last Thursday, instead of our usual tai-tai activity (gallivanting about Orchard and having tea at one of the eateries), we decided to go to Junebbhome's place for a change. June cooked for the kids and Ashley made a whole loadful of spaghetti for us moms...It was actually fun coz we could watch our kids play and interact with each other. June also flashed some of the home-made [Glen Doman inspired Math] cards to the kids individually and we could tell that all the kids were interested in the cards..Well, at least they are learning while having fun :)

The cute part was seeing the growing friendship between June's kid Ryan and Aidan. When Ryan saw Aidan, he quickly crawled to him, greeted him and proceeded to play with him. He even tagged along with Aidan when the latter was crawling towards a new toy..and promptly demonstrated how the toy is played. This two boys have a love/hate relationship, I must say. They definitely recognise each other and Ryan would either be either really affectionate or rough with him. Aidan will either retaliate or just bochap hehe..

We've decided that it would be a good idea to take turns having our 'baby-gatherings' at our homes..next week, we will be going to Gwynne's place and I will volunteer my home the week after. Home cooked food, fun playing & learning for our kids --what's there not to like :)

I will definitely miss such times with moms like June bbhome, Ashley ashleyneo, Gywnne koalababy..Sometimes, other moms like jinsiew would join in too. We've been meeting up and going out almost every weekend for about 4 months plus (since early July).. They have made my life as a SAHM more fun..and because of them, I have more excuses to go out! :P~ Also, I've learnt so much stuff from them..They are so open and giving, and also very encouraging, especially when we share our woes about parenting and our babies..And of coz they are full of praises for each other's babies when they achieve the various milestones and all. I'm thankful to have such a strong support group..and I do hope that we can remain pals when I start work.

Aidan learnt how to dance and wriggle to the music that day too. Ryan (in the middle) is seen here demonstrating to the other boys how to do it and the boys all started to shake their bonsbons together with him. Tres cute lah!

ze Dancing Babies :)

Feeding time~

Aidan ignoring pretty li' Tiff next to him...all he wanted was to play with the boys ..hmm...

We thought that we'll try something different by going to for Movies in the Park organised by Class 95 on Saturday evening since June had spare tickets. They were showing 2 movies and we wanted to catch Finding Nemo.. The weather wasn't very cooperative initially and it was raining heavily at my area..thankfully, it cleared up a while later..

The place was jam packed with people when we got there [yeah, as usual, we were late :P] ...it was damn noisy too with the djs playing inane games. In short, we went, we ate, we watch the movie (well, a very short part of it) and we left early..mainly because it was so warm and stuffy and the babies were getting fussy..I think the couples around us, who were earlier making funny faces and going "oh so cute!" at our babies were thinking that they weren't that adorable afterall.

So we quickly packed and ended up at Olio Dome at Park Mall, where we had our dinner..Ashley, who had stayed on called June a while later to inform us that it started to drizzle not long after we left so both June and I were thinking out loud that thankfully, we decided to chabok first.

Didn't managed to take any good pics tho..:(

Aidan & Ryan getting ready to be fed :D~

======================

Ooh..I just discovered this furniture/lifestyle shop at Holland Village called Anthropology (yeah, me really suaku)..Their stuff is really cool and I ended up buying 2 items from there in my first visit...

Bought this a kimono/pj from there..Can't really see the kimono top coz the slit/strings are partially hidden by the prints and the pig but the designs really cute..tho it's kinda big on Aidan :)

Have been wanting to get a standing mirror like that for a while but haven't been able to find one I liked..till I saw this one at the shop :) And what made the buy sweeter was that the price stated by the salesguy was even cheaper than the price tag on the item :)

Yeah, they will be delivering it tomorrow.. I really do love buying furnitures! But I think I shouldn't buy anymore stuff coz my place is really cluttered up with Aidan's barang barang.

I can't believe that specials & promotions from Anthropology are only available for members of the Association of Singapore Actors and Fridae..bleah!
======================

Especially for bbhome and koalababy
Found the full lyrics of the two children song we sang last Thursday..There's actually an ending for the elephant song hehe. We shall sing it to our babies again next Thursday :)

Elephant Song
One elephant came out to play
Out on a spider's web one day.
He had such enormous fun,
He called for another elephant to come.

Two elephants came out to play,
Out on a spider's web one day.
They had such enormous fun,
They called for another elephant to come.

Five elephants came out to play,
Out on a spider's web one day,
They had such enormous fun,
but the spider web broke and our song is done!

Six Little Ducks
Six little ducks that I once knew
Fat ones, skinny ones, fair ones, too
But the one little duck with the feather on his back
He led the others with a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack
He led the others with a quack, quack, quack

Down to the river they would go
Wibble, wobble, wibble, wobble, to and fro
But the one little duck with the feather on his back
He led the others with a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack
He led the others with a quack, quack, quack

Back from the river they would come
Wibble, wobble, wibble, wobble, ho, hum, hum
But the one little duck with the feather on his back
He led the others with a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack
He led the others with a quack, quack, quack.

Oh man..these songs really bring back memories of my kindergarten days :)

The way babies communicate is really an amazing sight :)

yeah agree. We always wonder whether they understand each other's blabberings..

But then again, some babies/toddlers prefer to play on their own and choose to ignore the other babies.

they dont choose to la, its the stage they are in. "solitary play" according to mildred parten's stages of play :D

but its great that aidan recognizes and plays with another kid!

Re: San
hmm..the stage they are in isn't categorized according to their age right ..it's just a classification of the type of 'play' that kids engage in..

I remember learning abt this either in my Psych or Sociology class many many many years ago *sigh*..mebbe i gotta go relearn it. Would be interesting to read abt the concepts and see how it is applied irl with Aidan :)

Actually, Ryan the other kid is more aware of Aidan than Aidan being aware of him..and he will seek out Aidan proactively..but Aidan will react to Ryan's 'advances' and is thus more chummy with him as a result, compared to the other kids. Very interesting to observe them together.

Hey, I've been looking for a full-length mirror like that, too! How much was it? Do they have stock left?

I'm sure they still have stocks left..or you can call them to check. I'm sure their contact is somewhere on

Oh btw, there's actually another full length mirror but it's made of dark wood instead. Looks pretty good too.

hmm i thought they didn't look very eager. I was commenting to June that they looked kinda glum especially since they were being fed..here's another similar pic hehe..
Oh..I have the Nemo DVD already and I've watched it before on big screen. Just wanted to try the picnic/movie in the park concept but I guess Aidan's probably still too young for it.

Aidan sure look more chubbier, esp the one with Ryan waiting to be fed.... Can't wait to pinch pinch his cheeks...

Guess you will miss the Thursday gathering once you start working...

So the kimono is 2 piece? (top with a elastic bottom), looks very nice... I also want..

angeliatay
Nov. 16th, 2003 06:42 pm (UTC)
actually, we realise that both aidan n ryan are now chubbier..I guess the food they are eating is showin on their face and tummy hehe.

Yup..the kimono is two-piece...the smallest size is for 1 yr old but it's kinda big. Aidan actually woke up this morning without his pants. They somehow managed to come off in the night. Another thing is that the material is kinda thin, compared to the mothercare pj. But i like. Am planning to buy some as X;mas presents this year *wink*

Aidan must be so happy his daddy is back!! so heart-breaking to read about him crying so much those two days must be missing daddy's presence...kinda scary how gabe would cope if my hubby decided to take up that job...i encouraged him to do so some more :P

Don't worry too much now..I'm sure Gabe will cope. He's such a happy baby. Actually, this was the first time that Aidan reacted as such (he never did the previous times hubby was away) so I think coincidentally, his gums must have started to hurt.
I sorta know how u feel..coz my decision to go back to work is also mainly for hub and for better financial security..

We were at Movies in the Park too!

It barely drizzle for 5 mins then the skies cleared up. We actually wanted to stay for Alex & Emma but 15 mins into the movie, Elliot was fussing so much, I called it a day!

Oh..we could have met then. Where were u sitting? June & Ashley were there early and they told me that it was drizzling when they were there. When i reached there, the rain had stopped already. I'm amazed u managed tostay thru Nemo..No loss abt Alex n Emma tho..heard its a boring/lousy show.

Oh.my lunch meeting with my ex-boss has been postponed to friday. Do u wanna meet before that for lunch?

Woah, male bonding at such a young age eh? LOL!

Aidan ignoring pretty li' Tiff next to him...all he wanted was to play with the boys ..hmm...

He's still young, and young boys are usually either blind to the existence of gals or they derive great fun disturbing them (like pull their hair and such, heheh). Just wait till he's about 12-14 ... then he'll be noticing gals all the time. ;)

Nov. 17th, 2003 06:34 am (UTC)
heh..u must be speaking from experience. :P..
oh man..12-14 still okay. Wait till the time when he starts demanding for the car keys, that's when we start crying.

sometimes, we are thankful that he's a boy..so that we wun worry so much when he starts..erm dating :D
