CNY first day :)

Regular Breakfast@YC's parents place on CNY day 1....

First day of Chinese New Year made up of the usual visits to parent's and relatives house..Aidan was quite a darling..in his bright green suit. Everyone oohed&ahhed (helps that he was the youngest there) at him, pinching his cheeks and saying that he was so cute and called him a mini-HuangFeiHong..Unlike the reunion dinner yesterday night where he was rather grouchy and intimidated by the large no. of pple at my uncle's place, he was so much more friendlier today and allowed many of his granduncles and aunties to carry him, even offering some of them the tidbits he was munching on. He loved to receive the red packets, holding out his hands each time they gave the angpows to him and refused to let them go when I try to pry it outta his hands (when he was overflowing with them). Not sure whether this is a good sign man..

He was totally zonked out by the mid-afternoon..:) Didn't take much pics today cept when we were at hubby's parents place in the morning coz I spent most of the time keeping him away from the snack table...~

Oh man ...More visitings to go tomorrow *tired*..But first, mahjong tonight! Hubby's playing first coz American Idol's on..whoohoo~

Hey, Happy CNY! Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Aidan's really cute in that bright green suit lah! Looks like something from Life Baby, but I don't think so coz I was just there the other day with gf picking out a sexy bright orange linen dress for her friend's 2-yr-old daughter. Geez, kids clothes today are mind-boggling huh? All I had were crappy singlets as a kid ... erm, still do actually. Hahaha!

Hey, you look really great in the sepia pic. Hweet!

Gong xi Gong xi~! No partying tonight??

Heh i thought the same too when I was the latest lifebaby collection. I preferred the girls stuff there tho ..I was thinkin gettin the white top n pants (with the nice motif) for Aidan but prob not for new year coz u know lah..not a very good color for a festive season hehe..But oh man..not cheap right?!

I'm sure u din wear crappy wifebeaters during chinese new year right? Hah..yeah u gym-bears prob still wear them alot.

Happy New Year Angelia! Aidan looks too darling for words in that little get-up of his... :)

One of the things I really miss about being at home during CNY is going to visit relatives in spiffy new clothes, devouring all the yummy home-made biscuits and receiving the red packets of course! Over here in gloomy old England on the other hand, my housemates have put me under house arrest until I change out of my black gym gear because I'll apparently bring bad karma to the house otherwise. Bleah.

LOL..are ur friends that traditional? Guess u are living in a house full of asians..either that or ur gymgear stinks *grin*..

But i know what u mean..when i was studyin in Canada, i missed all that u mentioned (esp the angpow part)..but i'm sure u have ur own 'mini-celebration with ur pals there right?

Happy New Year to u too!!! :)

Re: gong xi gong xi!~
actually..*coff*, i got in from an online shop that sells maternity and nursing clothes..I actually buy some of my stuff from maternity clothing shops esp if the designs nice coz the fitting is usually quite loose especially ard the tummy and thighs and thus, won't show off my flabs that much :P..For like usual clothes, I wear a L but for these, it's either and S or M so i dun feel so bad either hehe..

Here's the link to the blouse..It looks actually better irl and i love the material..it's chiffon and really comfy and kinda bohemian looking..it has a li' string ard the hips so that i can fluff it up a li' and it comes with a peach camisole (not black as shown in the pic) :)

heh..so forward ah..askin for angpow keke

yeah..his hair has indeed grown a lot :)
Jan. 22nd, 2004 08:26 am (UTC)
thats very interesting. yes, the ang pow holding is a good sign, think of it as wealth (and luck) retention.

eh, let him have some CNY goodies, its part of the fun..hahah!
Jan. 23rd, 2004 01:24 am (UTC)
actually eh..i was thinkin more of his 'interest in money' bit hehe..

Oh man..he's been indulging in way too much CNY goodies...if i let him have his way, he'll eat the entire tableful of snacks (eg. today he ate 4 loveletters, 3 kueh lapis, some prawn crackerfs ..and that's after his porridge lunch hor)..
Jan. 22nd, 2004 09:42 am (UTC)
a happy new year to you and your family :)

i was too busy to buy any new clothes this yr for hubby or myself... :( end up wearing whatever is available from the past years instead. i guess if i wanna turn it around, can say that this will ensure that this yr will be a frugal and money saving year... lol

Re: San
true true..i think after a while, the need to buy new stuff every new year sorta tires one a li'..different with kids tho so mebbe when u finally start a family, it'll be different :)

Wah i followed my friend to buy a kuay lapis cake, the whole thing, and i just realized how expensive it is! to think we used to gorge..

nevermind :X

I haven't had it for...6,7 years now. Can't remember what it tastes like. Sobs.

heh aidan does look like a mini wong fei hong! SO CUTE! And did you get layers in your hair? It's looking very very nice, and very very healthy as usual.
Jan. 23rd, 2004 01:29 am (UTC)
yeah..kueh lapis isn't that cheap..esp during CNY..they tend to hike up the goodies..at least u get to eat some of it while u r in Philly :) Honestly, i dun fancy it that much but Aidan seems to like it (but then again, he like all food)

Eh..hair tends to look healthier in pics :D..I did go to the salon to do treatment and wash blow so probably it looked neater and straighter than usual :)
Jan. 22nd, 2004 05:30 pm (UTC)
