To be there or not to be

I think I ate too much for dinner *burp*...although we ate really early. Stomach still so bloated plus baby Aidan moving about within....can't sleep!!

Saturday evening..we went back to the restaurant at Joo Chiat Place where they served fabulous pepper crabs. You have to go very early to this place to get a table as the place fills up pretty fast. When we left our place at abt 5pm, the rain was pretty heavy so we thought that there may not be a crowd. We reached there abt 5.20pm and there was only 1 table available!!! By 5:30pm..there was a long q forming already..and it was still raining like cats & dogs. Our frens, Trevor, Bibi, Corrina and Darren and my bro, Stephen +sis-in-law, Jen joined us for dinner and we ordered 6 crabs, fried fritters with sotong, braised prawns, deer meat with onion & ginger, kai-lan veg and a large plate of seafood horfun *slurp* Actually, I love eating with this group of pple coz the gals in the group usually don't eat much. They only had at most 2 pieces of crabs. Both hubby and I have solid appetite and usually end up eating the most since most of them usually stop eating before us.. :P~ Yeah, as usual, I over-ate again.Sheesh, two nights of crabs-eating. Too rich and way too much cholestrol. We had chilli crabs at Jumbo Seafood on Fri night but it wasn't that satisfying so we decided that we must have the pepper crabs!! Yeah, we r greedy pple!

Was chatting with leapin_toufu on IRC and telling him about the dilemna that hubby is having..Hubby is still undecided whether to be in the delivery room when I give birth. I don't think he is the type to faint or anything but he doesn't really like gory stuff and all [he freaks out while watching horror movies]. We heard from pple who has gone tru it that the delivery of the baby part is actually quite okay..[= not much blood, not v traumatic] whereas the delivery of the placenta can actually gross one out. I know it would be pretty reassuring to have him ard while I'm in there but I dunno... I rather not have him ard if he's gonna go pale and freak out.. The toufu man (funny eh..the things tt he knows] told me that there would be a nurse who's duty is oversee the husband and ensures that he is okay. Well, hubby will probably decide on this later..we still got abt 2 more weeks to go!!

Spent the evening watching the annual Star Awards...I usually like to watch such shows so that I can see what the stars are wearing [same for shows like Oscars, Grammys etc, yeah, superficial me :) ]

No big surprises for the big awards. Best Actor: Li Nanxing -yeah expected! Best Actress to Huang Biren, another shoo-in imo. Chen HuiHui finally gotten her trophy after 6 yrs of waiting ..honestly, she should have gotten an award last yr but I guess better late than never.

Hmm..not really much big upsets with the exception of the Top 10 Fav Male artistes award. Some surprises were the exclusion of Tay Ping Hui and Terence Cao. At least TPH wasn't sulking but his ego must have been bruised. Their positions were replaced by Gurmit Singh (!) who was nominated just for his role as a kidney patient in a health drama and Billy Koh, a popular dj especially amongst the aunties. Christopher Lee also finally got back into the top 10 although he's been pretty low key this year compared to his high-profile performances last yr [and he failed to get in then]. did Michelle Saram managed to get into top 10 fav? I think Hype Records must have spent a bundle calling the hotline for both Michelle and Jeanette Aw [who won best newcomer] :P~. Some of the constants on the top 10 are Zoe, Fann, Li Nanxing,Chew Chor Meng and Phyllis Quek, especially for the latter who did not even appear in any MediaCorp production last yr since she was busy in Taiwan. Some of their supporters are really fanatics and I really wonder how much they spent calling in the hotline. Kids nowadays have lotsa $$ to spend.

The worst dressed female award should go to Jacelyn Tay for her weird candy-colored/striped get-up. She looked like a clown!! Funny..she's always been a pretty classy dresser..must be one of those mad stylists who wanted to make a fashion statement. Ivy Lee looked so different with that cropped hair-cut and tanned-look. I didn't even recognise her but I must say she looked very sexy though skinny. I thought Lee Nan Xing looked pretty suave & debonair in his tuxedo suit ..he seemed to have lost a fair bit of weight too which made him looked younger. For the first time too, he thanked his wife without prompting from his fans/the audience hehe which was cute.

Feeling pretty zonked out today. Probably have to do with me not getting enough sleep at night. Also, I am actually rather feeling 'gan-cheong' knowing that the baby's due real soon. It's pretty scary u know..I sometimes wonder whether I will be a good mother to Aidan. At times, I feel that I don't even know how to take care of myself at..,so how am I gonna take care of a baby?! I know hubby has his fears too as all these is so novel to us. Anyway, it's something that both of us have to go through together. The past 3 years of married life [w/o kids] have been great. In fact, we often say that it's amazing that the years have passed by so fast coz we always feel that we've just gotten married. The arrival of the baby would definitely change the r/ship and inevitably cause more stress..However,I also know having the kid would also bring joy to us too..:)
