We realised we don't have a decent pic with Aidan coz he always looks away the minute we snap the pic! Single pics..no problem. He will pose like anything but when paired with us, he will look anywhere but the camera
*poke**poke*..look at Daddy..Now look at camera..aaAaarghh!
Now..look at the camera..Noooo..not up!!...Err..Don't look so bored, can?!!

PS: love those pics with Aidan in that "fu" tee! :p
But with a DC, take nice photos and try to blur out the background.
Normally would turn out pretty nice with a dreamy look.
:D
Dun know wat dig-camera u have, but with my Nikon 885, i normally used the continuous mode when takin posture of her: continous mode allow one to take up to many many shots within a very short interval. as a result, bound to hav some good shots in them. Disadv: u will hav to delete a lot of other shots, to conserve memory in the memory card.
Another trick is wavin her fav toy, whilst holdin the camera wth other hand n callin the baby. but admit this hav a lot of balancin trick.
U can also try the video mode with the digicam, but i guess tht is more useful at more growin-up stage: when she start to walk, when she start to talk, etc.
hope all this helps
Hm..yeah.will attempt the continuous mode then heh~
We did try getting baby's attention by calling out to him from behind the camera(he's too small to have a fav toy) but the problem is the minute the shot is taken, his face will avert elsewhere..happens all the time.
I guess I have to attempt to take even more pics to be successful :) Thanks for ur tip~~
i'm still learnin hw to use the nikon 885 day by day. it's xan be a simple and also a highly complex camera, if u are into photography and all tht stuff.
where do u store all the pics to put it onto LJ? i am also tryin to do so, but can't find any cheap server space/ free space to host my daughter's pics.
thks
Yeah..post ur daughter's pic..I love to look at other pple's kids photos :)
Mummy Wendy and myself had the same challenges as you had, so you are not alone... Here's a few ways to try to get that elusive shot.
1. Like Kasey mentioned, take as many shot as possible, your chances of taking a good shot increases, especially good when using a digital camera, shoot now, choose later...
2. Take opportunity of the right time, sometimes baby can be more lively after a bath or after waking up, use that opportunity. They are more attentive, but be quick as their attention span is also very short.
3. Maybe you can consider taking a "look away shot" it may turn out just as well if composed properly, just remember to keep the focus on the subject and keep the background clean, an example might be both parent and baby looking out of a window, shooting from a 45 degree angle.
Hope to see more photos soon! Happy clicking!
I guess u must be Peter, Wendy's hubby. Btw..ur website for Ethan is fabulous and he's really adorable..I like one pic in particular..where he has a towel wrapped ard his head like a turban :P..
Regarding point 2, I always have a knack of not having the camera when he's making the cutest faces..whenever I return with the camera, he's no longer in that mood *sigh*..yeah, must attempt to 'work' faster :)
Thanks for the tips! Yeah, I will always take a pic of Aidan everyday (as u can see, baby & the digicam is still a novelty heh)..But whether the pics come out good is another issue :P)
Cheers!! Hope to see new pics in ur website too!
Heh..yeah baby clothes r all so cute!! The li' monster romper is from Australia though..
