A few weeks ago, i received this email@work...

Dear Colleagues/Bloggers
Presslines is doing a feature on connecting with newspaper readers. One way is blogging by writers/columnists.
We would like to feature you and your blog.

Hope you can spend 10 minutes to answer these questions:
1) Age
2) Designation at ST/SPH
3) Blogsite address
4) What's on my site?
5) What's most juicy or what issues attract visitors?
6) Why do you blog?
7) What's my hit rate?
8) Does your blog increase your popularity, profile, lead to more readers to read your newspaper articles?

Presslines is our SPH monthly newsletter/journal which features the activities and staff@SPH. Was a li' blur when I read the email because there were obviously targetting at journalists/columnists and I'm definitely not one of them. But I still answered the quesions but added in the end that they probably made a mistake here because I wasn't a writer and thus may not be relevant to the topic at hand.

Few days later, the writer for Presslines called and and said she still wanted to feature me because she liked the fact that I wasn't a writer but since I do blog about some of my events and promotions, she could see some synergy between my blog and the print media I'm promoting. I also mentioned that I wasn't sure whether blogging was officially 'allowed' at my workplace and am a li' hesitant about letting the entire company know about my blog's existence. Thought it was a tad ironical too since our papers doesn't seem to think too highly of bloggers since most of the stuff reported tend to be more negative. Anyway, it's not like I have anything to hide though....am sure I haven't written anything seditious (heh..still not sure what that means) nor have I written anything negative abt my company. In fact, a few of my colleagues are aware of my journal already as I do show them some of the entries with photos I've taken of them. In fact, a client of mine found out my blog through a friend of hers who happened to be blog surfing.. said she definitely didn't mind me doing so *phew*..(fortunately, I wrote good stuff abt her event)..

Anyway, I stressed to the writer that my blog is really in truth..an online diary. It's still predominantly about Aidan and that it started as a pregnancy-blog which later evolved into a baby blog. But since I'd started working, I began to write more about my work-life. Asked her how she knew abt my blog and she mumbled about someone telling her about it but couldn't remember who..hmmm.. The writer then got a photographer to come by my (ultra-untidy) cubicle and took pics of me hugging my pc (!) with the screen showing my journal site.. Now I know how hard it is to pose man. Was feeling really awkward. Thankfully it was lunch time so most of my colleagues weren't around. Think he took almost 60 shots and probably only one of it will be used (or maybe not at all :P)..

Still not sure whether I did the right thing. She'd mentioned that Janice & Ian and some other journalists would be featured too but one's a writer and former photojournalist for TNP and the other's a columnist and freelance writer so it makes more sense. And mine's such a 'noodle' blog compared to theirs...Oh well, will see what it's gonna look like when it comes out in October :p

just realised how dirty my hub's keyboard is..yecks!

Since I'm sorta on the topic of work..i should try selling some koyok. Here's a promo I'm doing that's coming up in The New Paper tomorrow..For all the WOW fans out there..(although come to think of it, they would have gotten the game already), here's a World of Warcraft contest..where you stand a chance to win the grand prize of a trip to mega gaming convention -Blizzcon in Anaheim and also WOW starter packs. Cool stuff leh :P e_rambler, must take part hor!
