The above is the first part of the lyrics to this old song, Child - which is an English version of a classic Tagalog song Anak by Philippino folk-singer,Freddie Aguilar (you can listen to the full version of the song here ). It's a beautiful song with a haunting melody and poignant story about a parent's love for a wayward child. I've always managed to remember the first part of the lyrics (although I can't be sure that it's entire accurate but it's based on my listening of the song)even though I've probably last heard the song almost 15 years ago.
Anyone knows the full (and probably more accurate) lyrics of this song?

i did used yahoo n google but i guess my topic specification was too general heh..i searched for 'child - english version of anak'and some other wordings but couldn't find the lyrics ;P..
Don't know why you mentioning this old songs remind me of the singer chyi, which i listened to years ago?? Even though this taiwanese singer sing mainly cover version songs (in both english n chinese), i always find her voice so haunty n mysterious.
Gonna dig up her CD from somewhere in my collection........
