bleah..

I was running late for a lunch meeting today and had been trying in vain to flag down a cab. Lunch time is definitely not the best time to catch a cab given that most people would have called for one. It was so warm and humid too. A lady (I presumed she was a staff since she had our company pass ard her neck) walked right beside me..and after waiting there a while, she crossed the road and tried flagging a cab which was coming from the other direction. I was damn pissed! The place where I was standing was the unofficial waiting place for cabs since it was right at the cross junction and we could catch the cabs coming from both directions. We would usually form our own queue there and wait in line. She definitely knew the sop..and there she was trying to potong! I knew the cab would not stop for her since it's 'for hire' sign was off. Not only was she inconsiderate, she was visually impaired too. Then I spied a cab coming by from a distance and I simply didn't want her to 'win'. I quickly walked a little further where I was directly opposite her, and said to her "Excuse me? Are you blind? Couldn't you see that I was waiting for a cab too? "The lady stared at me blankly for a while. I think she was surprised that i had the nerve to confront her. And then she just turned tail and walked away... I then jumped into the cab that stopped right in front of me.

Hrmphh....! Hubby had remarked that I'm sometimes too quick-tempered and act without thinking.. But I'll have no qualms about telling someone off when I'm really cross. Especially at the theatres. I've scolded several people for talking non-stop on their mobile during the movie! Hubby said that I'm gonna kena bashed up one of these days :P

I'll need my superheros to come to my rescue then~!

*Applause* I admire your bravery! Not many people would dare to do what you did. I think most people would just swallow it down and complain. :) I think you did the right thing.

U did the right thing, but too tactless liao, U should rephrase your sentence so that you dont sound so annoyed.
"excuse me,i am so sorry, did you loose your eyesight since childhood?" would sound better

I definitely need Super-hero like you. I am annoyed by inconsiderate people but somehow never find the courage or guts to react to them or their behaviour. Always wish someone beside me will say something so the inconsiderate person gets what he/she deserved. Sigh

We do need more people like you! Especially for a chick like me. haha

Maybe she was new lah...

Even if she's new, she cant be that duh! She saw me trying to flag down cabs (so she cant possibly not know i was waiting for one). I mean if she'd like walked a distance further like right up the road for the cab, i may not be that agitated (and i wont walk that far to scold her :P) but she merely crossed the road and ignored me while trying to get the same cab as me..grrrrr..

yeah..actually, i realised most of the time, pple will back off when u fight for ur rights (esp when they know they are in the wrong). That usually spurs me to 'take action' more in other similar situations.

Hiya, I just surfed on by and your blog entry caught my eye (hey, it rhymes! =D).

It's really cathartic actually, having perfectly valid reasons to tell people off when they try to steal my cab or shove their way into the lift before I get out (why, is the lift going to run away?). No longer do I have to fume and simmer inside, I can even take my bad day out on them. Like blaring my horn at a herd of jaywalkers who think there's safety in numbers :)))

It's not pretty, but somebody's got to put ugly behaviour in place.

gotta agree..it does feel gd to be able to tell someone off..better then keeping it inside and feeling miserable abt it! :)
