holiday mood~

Aidan is having his school holidays now. Unlike his previous nursery where classes are held all throughout the year with only a few days break a year, Kinderland follows the same holiday breaks as the moe schools.

So, I cleared some leave per week so that I could spend some time with him. I have to admit, I kinda enjoy my 'partial' sahm-ness because I know it isn't permanent. There are days when I simply nua with him at home, watching tv and doing silly stuff like playing hide and seek and pretending to be his fave superhero characters. Also took him to see some of the mall shows which I thought he would enjoy - eg. Barney, Power Rangers SPD...Got Mong, Jean & June to loan me their kids so that he would have some friends to play with during this time too. Thankfully he still has his swimming and art classes. I was only around to witness his first 2 swimming lessons and after about 10 lessons, he has shown so much improvement. He can now swim without floats, tread water and breathe underwater. Felt so proud to see how well he was doing. So the next thing he has to do is to teach his au-tak mommy how to swim. Damn lao-kwee man..

Pics as usual..
With Mony & Macy at the Barney Show at United Square..

the kiddos enjoying their icecream at Globetrotters

and their chio mummies =D

Aidan had loads of fun with Alison too (hmm..that doesn't sound right)..
They painted, swam and went shopping together!

check out their x'mas tree painting!

icecream again at swensons!

Been busy preparing for his birthday party and also our annual X'mas gathering. Have finally bought all the items for the bday goody bags and finalised the menu for the xmas dinner. Am trying trying out Miss Clarity Cafe X'mas menu this year...The food looks good man..roast beef, oxtail stew, crispy pork knuckles *slurp*.

Am on leave today and tomorrow. Will be checking into Rasa Sentosa at 3pm and will be there till Saturday. Just hoping that the weather would be kind! And I've also booked the family for a cruise to Malacca/KL at the end of the year! My first time on a cruise ship too *ultra suaku*! Man..I'm really in a holiday mood. How to concentrate at work?!

He's turning 4 soon...he's growing up way toooo fast!

the boy took this pic of moi!check out my eyebags man..

It's been almost 4 years since Aidan came into our lives. He has indeed been a blessing and brought so much joy to us! I've learnt so much from him....one of which is to love unconditionally. I've always said this..the boy has taught me the true depth on how much I can love someone and that feeling can be truly quite overwhelming. I can never forget that moment I held him in my arms for the first time and the emotions of love and protectiveness I suddenly felt. I've also learnt to be a more responsible person, to not to sweat over little things and be more tolerant and accept that things will sometimes go awry..he has made me appreciate the little things in life..there is that joy of watching him grow and learn new things and that feeling of pride when I witness his achievements [from learning to crawl/walk to being able to swim =)]. He has made me laugh so much with his silly antics and the darndest things that comes out from his mouth.. But I've also began to fear more...I constantly wonder whether we are raising him up correctly and what lies ahead of his life..

Life is not measured by the breaths you take but by the moments that take your breath away.

And Aidan has constantly taken by breath away and I know there are many more such moments to come.:)

Just a reminder for those who has rsvped yes for Aidan's party..it's this Sunday from 11.30am onwards! See you there! Remember to come with an empty stomach!!

Aidan looks like a cute little Christmas tree elf in the first pic! :P

Isn't it a great blessing that we now live in an era of digital cameras where beautiful memories can be stored and shared anywhere anytime?

Imagine one day when Aidan can read and starts to blog about his mummy. And he reads all these entries about himself as he grows up.

What a priceless gift you are going to give him. Aidan is a very lucky boy to have a mummy like you. The love goes both ways

Merry X'mas :)

wow! Aidan can swim! that's really impressive coz most swim coaches actually take kids from 4 yrs onwards .. and Aidan technically is not even 4 yet!
Dec. 16th, 2006 01:22 pm (UTC)
aidan's classmate who's also living in the same estate has been taking swimming lessons since he was 2 years old..he swims like a fish. aidan is now taking lessons together with him so he is trying his best to keep up with that other boy. the swimming instructor had a trial with aidan and once he saw that aidan wasn't afraid of water, he said that aidan won't be hard to teach..

Wah, you make me wanna go make babies liao ... erm, for the right reasons I mean. LOL! I think J will pretty much feel the same way you do about having a child, but I wonder what it'll be like for us men.

And no worries lah babe, I think you're doing really fine bringing up Aidan. He's a darn lucky kid OK! ;)
Dec. 22nd, 2006 04:46 am (UTC)

wow... impressive siah! he can swim!!
Ethan dare not to put his head into the water :(
Dec. 16th, 2006 01:24 pm (UTC)
well, not v well yet but good enough for me. boy loves water so it's easier for him to learn..at least now im not that worried. previously, he would just plunge straight into the water, even when he doesnt know how to swim.
