poor boy!! hope that will teach the kids a lesson about going into the lift without their parents...gabe has yet to learn and once the lift door almost closed with him alone inside in a shopping center!! stupid woman was taking her sweet time to come out and get out of the way for me to push the stroller inside and that boy could not wait to get in so...

yes, pandan valley is very hot, we had asked our agent to look for one as our first choice when we were looking for a new home around the area...but since the news of possible enbloc came about, she had stopped...am surprised there are still so many keen buyers...could it be your beautiful home being featured in the magazine? hehe...

oh man, it would have been worst in a crowded shopping center! i guess we just have to have a firm grip on our kids when we're outdoors..esp now that they are so much more active and hyper, esp for our boys!

heh, doubt it has anything to do with the magazine feature. the agents are probably calling everyone in pandan valley hoping to get a sucker who will sell at a low price :P

Poor poor Aidan.. luckily there're look-thru' screen on the lift doors else it'll have been worst.

Can the decals be peeled off again?
angeliatay
Jun. 12th, 2007 04:28 am (UTC)
actually, there isn't any look thru screen at our lift doors..they r those old opaque ones!!

as for the decals, once applied..quite hard to reuse after u peel it off.

Love the decals, but are they only available in B&W?

Maybe you can teach Aidan that should he gets stuck in the lift, get him to press whichever button that he can reach eg 1st floor and once he gets onto that floor, to standby the wall and wait for you guys.

I have been drumming the same instruction to Nicole and even tell her not to go with any adults but just stay put and wait for mum or dad should she be in such situation. I cannot afford to go floor by floor as I stay on the 37th! I will be dead before reaching her ;p

check their website :http://winkplay.com/
the decals come in different colors and you can even have them customised according to your preference.

i'd ever told him that before but it works well only if the lifts are working. but in this case, the lights went off and he couldn't even see the buttons at the side. so he did the next best thing..cry. when the lift started working again, he actually got out at b1 (the only button on the lift he could reach) and walked up to the lobby and waited for us on the chair. the lady at the lobby told us that she saw him walking up on his own, looking lost but at least he had the frame of mind to wait for us there.

your place is lovely! you got your place at such a good price too.

poor Aidan, can imagine how terrified he was to be stuck in the dark lift. the 10 mins must have felt like hours to him.

yeah, thankfully we got the place before the property prices started heating up!

well, at least he doesnt seemed to be affected by that experience..i just hope he's learnt his lessons!

aiyohh! the way you described it! "the boy was sitting at the chair sobbing pitifully" so adorableeeee*! i can't imagine being a kid and stuck in a lift for 10 whole minutes in complete darkness. i hope he doesn't get traumatised for the rest of his life.

*btw you know aidan is one of the 3 little boys i actually like and i don't mean the situation is adorable in the wrong way right?

how much did you get your wii set for?
angeliatay
Jun. 12th, 2007 01:25 pm (UTC)
Slightly over 700+ for a bundle set including wii sports & one extra wiimote + another 2 games (wii play + call of duty)!

Oh dear, hope he's ok from the scare! But I guess the "upside" of it is that he probably wont be running off without you guys the next time (i.e. you can feel more relieved too). Wii looks fun - my first time seeing wii in action! Hah. How much is the set and can it be purchased in SG (cos I remember you writing previously about how difficult it is to lay your hands on it or something)?

Jun. 12th, 2007 02:39 pm (UTC)
not sure whether he has really learnt his lesson but im sure he'll be abit hesitant in future if he plans to run into a lift alone.

the last time i wrote abt it, it wasnt officially launched in spore yet and only the imported sets were on sale. maxsoft has finally brought the wii in but the pricing aint great..considered ex especially if one compares with how much it is in the states. I got mine for over 600+ but i also bought some other games too so in the end, i spent abt 700+!

hope you dun mind my intrusion on your blog :)

cheers,

oh dear, poor guy, got scare by the stupid lift. At least he's clever enough to down B1 and climb the stair to lobby to wait for you.
When I was a pri kid, I also kena the same thing before. Thus, I used to have nightmare about the dark lift. I hope that doesn't happen to Aidan.

How much did you spend getting the wink? They look very nice!

You had 3 remote controller for your wii?
angeliatay
Jun. 13th, 2007 05:35 am (UTC)
thankfully, that incident hasnt seemed to impact the boy much..!

the winkies arent cheap though..it's $69 per batch.. check out their website for more designs and the prices - http://winkplay.com/

heh..now i have 4! The wii bundle i bought came with 2 remotes..and I purchased the Wii Play which also came with another wiimote so i had 3. I just bought another wiimote coz hub said that we can then play tennis doubles :P

aww poor Aidan!! I'd be scared too :( guess now he will not be rushing ahead of you guys again!

once when I was young I took a lift without realising the lights in it weren't working! it was pitch dark and I was pretty scared alone in it. from then onwards I would unconsciously check if the lights were working before I enter.

Wah...it must have been terrifying to be trapped in the lift in pitch darkness. There's this old condo at the Bayshore area that also suffered from frequent lift breakdowns. Think they just managed to get the MC to approve the lift upgrading (read in papers). Maybe you must canvass for more support from the residents to push the MC to do something?

Prices for condos have been pushed ridiculously high by speculators (they're mostly banking on enbloc), foreign investors, and short supply (owners are staying put because they have nowhere else to move to if they sell). What I've been advising my clients who want to sell their condos is to move to landed property (prices are still reasonable coz foreigners aren't eligible to buy). Or rent a cheap property and wait for the next downturn.

Jun. 13th, 2007 03:14 am (UTC)
heh..and guess who is living at that condo, my other bro (not Junior). I don't know whether the other blocks' lifts are just as koyak as the ones in our block but im sure they must have broken down a few times..esp because of the age.

btw, do you have any idea how much a decent size (landed) house at the Sunset Way area cost? We like that area very much but we're thinking that it probably aint cheap.

Erm, 'cept for the flowers, the rest of the "creature" stickers quite ok for boy's room methinks. Do they come in a set or can you pick and choose ah?

Poor Aidan! I think in situations like this, the parents panic as much as the kid. I remember my female colleague telling me how traumatised she was when her 3 year old daughter ended up in a lift by herself and then wandered out when it stopped at a random floor. My colleague had no idea which floor her daughter was on and she imagined all kinds of bad things that could happen to a young girl. Scary stuff the way she told it!

Jun. 14th, 2007 02:30 pm (UTC)
yeah, they come in a set i guess im limited to just sticking the creatures in his room..

thankfully our lifts only stops at 4 floors including the lobby and basement...imagine if it stops at every floor :P can understand how frightened ur colleague was then! luckily she found her daughter!

geez .. that's really scary the lift episode esp for a kid!!
perhaps you can identify which lift and NOT take that lift .. unless BOTH lifts take turns to break-down .. *SHARKS*

I tend to agree the decals (the flowers) not so suitable for Aidan's room la (what were you thinking??) except for that monster and bugs ;P

Jun. 14th, 2007 02:31 pm (UTC)
lifts here are much older and they take longer to come up..imagine having to always wait for the other lift *siong*
