Hmm, actually I can cook, just not very well. Was forced to learn how to cook when I was studying overseas and had to take turns with the housemates to make dinner. I'd almost set the kitchen ablaze on one occasion. Did something really duh. I'd placed the electric kettle on the stove thinking that all kettles must be exactly like the one I used at home. The kettle caught fire and thankfully, my housemates were around to help me put it out! Word soon got around and I got teased quite abit about my kitchen skills :P
When I was a stay-at-home mom, I tried to be a good wifey and made dinner as often as I could. After a few months or so, the other half waved the white flag and suggested rather diplomatically that he would tarpao food home everyday so that I could 'relax'. Oh well, at least I tried. I think Aidan suffered the most..When he was able to eat solids, I prepared the same broccoli and fish porridge almost every weekday (we eat out during the weekends) for almost a year. Thankfully, the boy wasn't as particular as his dad and wallop everything up happily. And his favourite veg is still broccoli :P I'm really blessed that I have a child that ♥ food! Watching him eat is such a joy :D

But I do envy others who are able to whip up fabulous dishes and bake fantastic creations that can pass off as work of art.

When we bought this apartment and refurbished it, we totally skipped the kitchen..We have 2 kitchens,a dry and a wet one. I left both areas untouched..the design was rather blah but still acceptable. Now I kinda regretted not doing it up. Thought of getting an oven so that I could learn to bake (yeah, kinda influenced by Mong) but there's no space for it. Wanted to do up the kitchen but again with the enbloc issue still pending, it may not be a good idea to spend money on the apartment *sigh*..Oh well, maybe I'll just ask Mong to invite me over when she bakes and try to learn from her. A domestic goddess I'll never be but oh well, at least I can say that I'd tried. May end up messing things up even more though.
Anyway..here's an in-paper promo that I'd pitched to sponsors and we'd gotten great prizes for it. It's a home makeover contest and we're starting with a kitchen do-over first! We're giving away ..not 1, but 3 makeovers worth up to $15k each..appliances included!! The first promo ad was out last week and the response has been great so far. There are 2 more ads that we'll be running and I'm hoping that entries will continue to pour in. Personally, this is one contest I would like to win because I really won''t mind a spanking new kitchen! If you know of anyone whose kitchen is due for a makeover, watch out for the ad this Sat! Oh, and next month, the makeover theme will be the living room with furnishings from Air Division! How cool is that?
