i think Disney land would be a lot better
i've been to both. but seems that land would be much more appropriate for your son cos most of the theme rides in disneysea are meant for adults. Have a great time there. maybe you could go for both. and stay at their Disney hotel there for 2 days 1 night.

yeah, i guess those who'd mentioned that disneysea is more fun are the adults..disneyland is probably more suitable for kids of aidan's age! thanks!

That time when I went to Tokyo, my friend wanted to go to Disneysea but we ended up in Disneyland. Don't know how come also. Anyway, I'm not a Disney person so to me, it was a day wasted (out of my precious 8 days). Not much help hor? Heh.
Sep. 18th, 2007 03:22 pm (UTC)
ya hehe, not much. i dont think the adults will enjoy disneyland thaaaat much either but aidan will prob go crazy over there :P
Sep. 18th, 2007 03:41 pm (UTC)
my friend lives in japan and she says DisneySea is much, much better!
Sep. 19th, 2007 12:16 pm (UTC)
i have heard that disneysea is more fun but am not sure whether t is suitable for kids of aidan's age!

For first time visitors, Disneyland is always better. Disneysea can be boring for younger kids although there are things like The Little Mermaid (though it's ALL in Japanese). Disneyland is definitely way more kid-friendly, and the parade and evening show is more fun IMO... Oh and there are lots and lots of things that kids will be tempted to buy so beware :P

Make sure you also don't end up going to any of the theme parks on a school or public holiday! Japanese LURVE to go to the theme parks so it's SUPER packed on those days... Remember also to check the park schedule before hand to know whether any attractions are closed or if any shows are not available that day. And remember, Fast Pass is your friend heh...

Need any pointers about Tokyo let me know :P

Are you doing free & easy or guided tour ah?
Sep. 19th, 2007 12:17 pm (UTC)
ok pass! must buy!

doing guided tour for first 7 days and 3 days of free n easy! so i have gotta plan what to do for f&e!

Disneyland especially if it's a first :) You can buy tickets in advance at the Disney store @ Shibuya. Otherwise, do go early i.e. around 9am - the queues are super long & horrendous. When you are in the park itself, do try to get "Fast Trak" passes for the popular rides e.g. Space Mountain as they usually run out by 12 noon. Check to see if the day you are going is a public holiday or school holiday - else the crowds will be even worse :P !

This is the official website:
You can get alot of info there incldg how to get there and park schedules! Also, the flavoured pop-corn availble in the park is worth a try despite the long queues ;)

If you've been to Disney at LA, adults will find Disneyland Tokyo boring. But kids will love it still.... though Disney LA is still much much better, hehe. The worst Disney is Disney Hong Kong, so small! Not worth the time and money.

Anyway, Disneyland Tokyo will be more suitable for your son as it has more rides his age.

Disneysea has mostly adult rides (very fun) and few kiddy rides. The only thing I hated was ... the characters speak in Japanese!! Don't understand what the asian mermaid was talking about.

Very important, don't forget to get the Fast Pass.

actually, i didn't mind disney is suitable for small kids and i brought aidan there when he was abt 2 yrs old and he loved it! it isn't as tiring as the one in US i guess.. pass!!! THANKS!

Sep. 18th, 2007 10:48 pm (UTC)
i prefer disneysea more but disneyland is cool too
do allocate early admission and extra water bottles :)
Sep. 19th, 2007 02:31 pm (UTC)
heh good good..take note - bring extra water bottles!!
Sep. 18th, 2007 11:16 pm (UTC)
i have been to the disneyland, quite nice, but the queues for the rides are damn long!! but it's still very nice...
have not been to disneysea, but friends who have been there told me that it's must smaller..
Sep. 19th, 2007 02:39 pm (UTC)
before i did this 'survey', i'd already heard that disneysea is a better venue but the rides are suitabe for adults. since im bringing the boy along, i'll prob choose disneyland if i can only go to one of the 2!

Went to Disneysea in June. My three kids ages 12,11 and 7 had a wonderful time there. But agree that Disneyland will be more suitable for your son. Unless u have plan going to the Disneyland in the States in the near future (forget about the HK Disneyland) then Disneysea is a better choice as it is the only one in Japan.
Sep. 19th, 2007 01:35 am (UTC)
We went to Disneyland 3 yrs ago... though it was raining cats and dogs... can die... was told Disneysea more for older kids...

BTW, things are all blady expensive in Disney and they donch speak English much!!!
