Being Bwee...

Aidan woke up looking at least 6 pounds heavier and much chubbier than before!! I think he had a growth spurt overnight. Both hubby and I were like..eh, wah..how come Aidan become so bwee??!He was lying in the cot looking like the Incredible Hulk in Bruce Banner's clothings in his [0-3 mths] pjs. Guess that means I have an excuse to go shopping for some new pjs for him .

Since I'm on the subject of weight gain..I HAVE NOT LOST THE FATS AT MY TUMMY, HIPS & THIGHS YET !!!!Darn..I was so confident that I would lose weight pretty fast but nooooo, it was not to be. I'm still 56kg...abt 7kg over my pre-pregnancy weight. I knew I shouldn't have snacked so much during my pregnancy! And the thing is I look pretty slim from waist up but from waist down..eewwww! And to make it worse, I'm petite and short so I look kinda disproportional. I'd better try going to the gym to use the stair-masters once a day..hmmm..make it once in 2 days. I think there are specific exercises I can do just to trim my lower half of the body..Darn. When I was in my 20s, I could eat anything and not gain any weight. After I hit 30, everytime I weigh myself, I see the scales moving further and further to the right! Bah!

Aidan was wearing this blue tee jus last week and it was still loose on him..
Today,it was snug on him and his rounded tummy was so obvious!!!

Oh..10 months to reach pre-preg weight ah! Wah..must wait so long. Everyone's tellin me if I breastfeed more, sure lose more weight faster but *sigh*..
I remember the nurses telling me..6mths no problem. Back to your usual self..I am thinking now..unlikely man!

Weight Gain / Lost
Hi Angelia

I am almost the same height as you are, but still much heavier like 60kg!!! I have lost all the weight (10kg) which I put on during my pregnancy within 3 wks after delivery. BUT no further weight lost thereafter even when I am breastfeeding almost exclusively for 4 1/2 mths now. One nurse said that to lose weight I might have to bf for abt 8 mths before I can see results...hope dd won't wean before that deadline. Now already cutting down on food intake (like skipping breakfast) for a week, scale today shows 59.7kg, not much inprovement :(

Re: Weight Gain / Lost
Hey there..
Sorry but LJ doesn't show the name/email of the poster if it's anonymous so I don't know who u r..please enlighten me :)

At least u lost ur pre-pregnancy weight alraedy..wow, u only put on 10kg..how big was ur daughter? It meant that most of the weight went to you child eh..

It does get kinda depressing eh..tryin to get back to shape. I know of friends who did lose the weight but not their shape. Well,I guess i just have to perseveare..

Btw, I think breakfast is the most impt meal of the day..instead of skipping a meal, why not just have a lighter lunch or breakfast..heh, who am I to say too eh..I'm someone who just can't stop eating good food :D~

I put on about 17kg! for this lil one. I lost most of my weight after birth I went from 50kg to 67.2kg. Imagine and on my 6 weeks post natal check up I was 59kg. Now about 55kg, still got 5kgs to go but I don't know if it's me only but my thighs doesn't seem to slim down, now I have thunder tights and gigantic buttocks!!! :(

Our weight gain/weight loss is abt the same cept that u r faster than me :D~
And yeah, it's the thighs and buttocks that remains big! Arghhh! Plus the tummy for me too.
We really must try to get back to shape..! *jia you*!

*looks at all the comments and gets scared already*
My fren had a baby real early, actually when she was 21 to be exact. She lost everywhere except her hips, which i assume is natural, in a matter of 2 months. She used to be real skinny too, actually anorexic, and when she was preggy, she was as bloated as any other mommy i guess. But she told me she had this masseuse come and do these wraps for her, heat wraps and stuff, plus the massages, and i swear lor, if only i could show you the bikini she was in when her baby was 6 mths old! So we've concluded it's also a matter of having a baby younger, but i know of a few people in this business of helping get rid of post-natal extras, my good friend's mom is one of them. If you're interested.

Re:
I did have the malay lady come over to massage me and rub me with herbs and wrap me in a corset-like binder..It helped me shed abt 3kg or so but that's all. I had only lost 5kg of the extra 18kg after giving birth so the other 5kg+ was lost during the last 3 months or so..
I dun think it's gotta do with age..I have a friend who's abt the same age group as me (above 30) and she basically lost all the preggy fats as soon as she gave birth. No one would have thought that she'd just given birth.
If ur mom's friend doesn't charge too much and makes house visits (yeah, I'm lazy...hmm, mebbe that's y I havent lost much weight :D), I'd realy won't mind trying it out.

And by the way, not that i'm sucking up to get invited to your babies party (hmpf again) really i'm not hehe, but i think you look great. But i understand the whole self-standards thing, and for most parts you're looking so great cos you're so darn happy right? :) And that's better than any other kind of looking great. :D
