Woke up late this morning..abt 10.15am. No sound coming from the wee one's room ..I checked..There he was lying on his front, with his face faced down. I quickly picked him up..he was awake..he looked at me, with his right big eye, left small eye (his double eyelids in his left eye has disappeared again) and with a very red nose..looking really really pissed and..he promptly began to bawl! Oops... Took a while for to me to pacify him. I guess he probably woke up earlier, did his little flipover, realised he couldn't flip back..was on all fours for a while and was trying to prop himself up with his hands so that he could breathe...that was probably why his nose was so red coz they were squished against the mattress several times..he had managed to get his hands crossed so that his face was lying on his hands instead of the mattress. Am surprised he didn't 'call' out for me..coz he usually does that the first thing he wakes up..

*Sigh*..this flipping over thingy is really making me vexed. He simpy refuses to stay on his back ..bah! And thankfully he just flips to his left..imagine if he can do it both ways, he'll be rolling around the house~ While putting him in bed for his nap earlier on, I tried to anchor him in place by having two huge pillows on each of his side so that he would not be able to move, and propped his head in between two pillows to 'secure' it. Boy..was he an unhappy camper....

pissed Aidan with a pink nose~~
_______________________________

Yesterday night was the first time Aidan refused to sleep on cue after his last feed since he turned 2 months old (He's 4 months+ now). Usually, both of us will cuddle him a little, take turns to give him his goodnight kisses and lay him down to sleep..But yesterday, after I kissed him, he was looking at me bright eyed ..as if he was expecting more. A while after I left the room, I heard him crying.I finally managed to make him sleep by nursing him till he was really sleepy and then laid him on his cot..

I wonder whether it was because he missed his daddy. I read that babies are creatures of habit..Maybe, he was so used to seeing his daddy's face before he sleeps and felt that something was missing that night. Anyway..am just hypothesising here but hubby's sure gonna be happy thinking that his li' boy missed him so much that he couldn't sleep :)</font>

Alison used to flip around a lot too. We just removed all the soft beddings and toys from her bed so she would not suffocate. Helps if the mattress is firm. It's a new skill he's trying out - pretty soon he'll be able to flip over completely! Baby's growing up day by day. Just let him roll around, it helps with his motor skills as well. :P

Re:
I do let him flip about whenever I play with him..he flips-over on his ABC mat, on his babygym, on my bed, in his cot and even tried to flipover while sitting on the big sofa chair and when I'm nursing him*arghh*..I think he's just so enamoured by his latest move that he just does it over n over again..But when he's tired..he will keep still *phew*. But it's when I want him to lie down to nap or when I need some rest time that his flipflopping abt gets kinda tiring..

Ooh..that li' girl in ur icon is soo beautiful. Where did u get it from...

Yeah..I do let him flip ard the house..I find it cute actually but it gets tiring to keep up with him and I'm so afraid he may hurt himself if I wasn't careful..

Heh..his dad's gonna be back tonight so no worries :)

Huh? U mean u unconsciously turnover while u're sleeping?? Woah..that's scary especially if u are too asleep to realise what u are doing. BUt surely u will wake up when u feel suffocated.

your baby is so chantek is this pix! he looks like he's got makeup on! looking good, mommy takes very good care of u, lil Aidan!

yr dh will be super-pleased to read abt his babe needing to see him b4 he sleeps!

how did i survive alone?! prayed very hard and started night time ritual at 6+/7pm to get Q to sleep early! in the beginning, i slung (sp?!) him to sleep so that i could get things done. one night, i didn't hv dinner till 11pm! but i survived! felt very 'accomplished' after that. nothing nan de dao wo! my hypy very koyak but u understand lah!

till now, he sleeps early, latest by 9pm unless he's super cranky like tonite, 11pm coz i changed bedsheets earlier n i think he's reacting to the fabric... sigh gotta go back to plain, boring 100% cotton sheets.

take good care n i wish u Happy Mother's Day first b4 i forget! u r a mom now, so i can wish u right! :)

hugs,

This is so coincidental... I just took some pics of OCA rolling over in slow motion today!

For the sake of your sanity I hope Aidan doesn't begin to roll over in his sleep like OCA *sigh*...

hehe..I think coz our sons are both abt the same age, we tend to take similar type of pics :D
*sigh* that's what I fear u know..The thing is, I don't sleep with Aidan. He sleeps alone his his cot at night. Was just tellin hubby that I was wondering whether I should sleep with him in the room..just in case..

When I was a kid, I only had one double eyelid. The other one miraculously appeared when I was 15. Weird, huh.
angeliatay
May. 8th, 2003 07:22 am (UTC)
Eh..are u trying to hint that u r compatible to him~ hee

His other double eyelids comes n goes..so if he has it, his eyes will look really big n round, and if not, it will look somewhat small..Hope it becomes permanent like urs..hm..but 15 yrs kinda late hor..

Actually, I had single eyelids from young and only had double eyelids when I was 13 ..actually, I created it myself by rubbing by eyes until swollen n voila..double eyelids (my sis can confirm this hehe)..

try placing soft toys around him?
angeliatay
May. 8th, 2003 07:23 am (UTC)
Hmm..not a good idea coz he may suffocate if his face presses on them..Would probably need to be more vigilant coz he only flips abt when he's active..when he's tired, he'll lay down n lepak or sleep :)

This flipping thing sure is dangerous. Once upon a time......when I was 3 months plus, I was left unattended on my parents' bed for a while. Nobody knew that I knew how to flipped. Guess what? I not only flipped, but rolled off the bed and landed on the ground with a loud thud.

Did u remember the incident or did ur parents told u? Were u hurt???
Yeah..I've heard of a few accidents as a result of baby rolling off the bed. That's why I always errect 'barriers' in the form of huge pillows by the side. Am gonna start laying a mattress on the floor too jus in case he does drop off the bed..

I think narcolepsy is just the condition where people would fall asleep at random times... Sleep apnea is when a person stops breathing at times during sleep...

Anyway, I think the rolling over phase would be over soon... But babies will definitely have even more siong phases to go through :)

Oh yeah hor..sleep apnea..that's the right term.
U know lah..when other babies are turning..n urs havent, u wait anxiously for him to..and when finally does, u just wanna tear ur hair out to stop him from doing so..I know it's gonna be the same with crawling, talking and walking hehe..
Yeah..am awaiting those more 'anxious' moments to come :D
