sayonara Japan..ohayo #34!

Now you see me...

Now you don't..

This is my absolute, favourite ring-toy and I will never let go of it...

kinda obvious I haven't figured out how to post video images on my lj..*sigh*

Bah! It is likely that Japan ain't gonna happen coz only 4 people (including us) signed up for the package so far and the confirmation date is on the 11th which is tomorrow!! Shucks..I'd been so looking forward to Japan... Going free and easy won't be a good idea 'cause we don't know the language and food's gonna be really costly..

Hmm..so, I have to look for alternative holiday destinations...Hubby is suggesting a central Europe tour [he's been there, I've not]..but I'm not that into a rushed tour where I get to see only a glimpse of various cities in a short week....I prefer something more leisurely. Canada is another option..Hubby has been longing to visit Vancouver and I can easily bring him around since I studied there and we can also go to the Canadian Rockies..It would be nice to be in Canada in late summer/early autumn...Or we may just go somewhere nearer like Sydney and Melbourne..[where I'll probably end up shopping non-stop]..

On turning 34
Yeah..I'm gonna turn 34 in about 2 weeks time. Don't feel that old mentally but physically, I'm really in a bad shape..Looking at old chubby baby pics of myself is fine but looking at pics of myself when I was in my 20s looking really slim and glowing can be really depressing. Imagine, from the age of 29 onwards, I've put a total of 15kg..yeah yeah, I know I was preggy but in truth, I'd been starting to let myself go since I got married.

I remember the days [which were a mere 4 years ago] when we used to go clubbing and dance the night away and the next morning, me and hubby would still head down to East Coast for some rollerblading..boy, did we have lotsa energy then. Now, whenever we tell ourselves.."ok, let's go blading tomorrow morning"...the next day will come and pass and we find ourselves sleeping the morning and sometimes the afternoon away..arghh...We have absolutely no willpower I tell ya..! Ok..my resolution for my birthday! Lose weight and start exercising!! Oh yeah, and learn to swim too!

Oh yeah..hubby called me up a few days ago and asked..so, if you would to have some vouchers, which mall would you like them to be from? I thought for a while and replied "Mothercare!!" 'coz that's where I usually shop [for the wee one of coz] ...Hubby paused and queried.."Any other places?"..."Takashimaya!"I said, since the children's dept was the next other most shopped place (the 3rd being Kiddy Palace) ...I asked hubby why he was asking me this..he kept quiet a while and replied.."Err..I was wondering what to get you for your birthday mah..and I thought gift vouchers would be good for you since it's always so tough to get you a nice present!!"

Kinda unromantic, don't you think..heh. Anyway, of coz I told him to disregard Mothercare if that was the case..seriously, gift vouchers are fine with me..considering that during my last birthday, I chose the present myself (diamond earrings) coz he begged me to tell him what I wanted after his gaffe in the previous year [He got me a Playstation ..and guess who ended up playing with it!!]

Well, at least he remembers my birthday :)

This you gotta read...
This is really good!

LOL! I absolutely understand your hubby's train of thought about buying b'day presents! Actually, there's loads of logic in it. Why not buy something our significant other really wants, rather than tikum tikum and risk a 50-50 chance of getting it totally wrong? Erm, I almost bought my gf a Playstation once too. ;)

Woah, Aidan is getting pretty confident and agile sitting up! Oh yeah, my gf says (sic) he's damn cute lah!
Jul. 10th, 2003 09:30 am (UTC)
heh, yeah u noticed eh. He loves to sit upright now..even in his stroller, he refuses to lie down and will sit up and kaypoh look ard :D..

But eh, it's the job of a husband/bf to find out what ur s/o wants..but yeah then again...most men are pretty dense in such matters. Heh..and was that playstation supposed to be for u or her?

psss..I think ur gf is hinting to u *grin*

i think going to japan on your own should be ok. which part of japan again? there are usually tour office/desk at the hotel and you can easily arrange for trips.
Jul. 10th, 2003 09:27 am (UTC)
Looking at mainly Tokyo area..
But wouldn't the language be a problem coz not many Japs speak english..I dunno but most pple advised me that for the first time, we should go on a tour..

"Imagine, from the age of 29 onwards, I've put a total of 15kg"

Eh....I've put on 15-18kg since the age of 16. And I was never pregnant. :P

Don't want to go Maldives? How about NZ? I wish I could go there again.

Jul. 10th, 2003 11:27 am (UTC)
Re: Sit & Reach
Yeah..NZ is one option too..both hubby and I have never been there but honestly, I not really a farm person..I'm more urban :p..

hey ange, why don't you ask your hubby to get you a voucher from a local spa or something? you pamper and take care of aidan every day, so on your birthday you should take a day off and let the spa pamper you with facial and a massage :)

i highly recommend Spa Esprit at Holland Village. (i hope your hubby is reading this! hehehe)...
Jul. 10th, 2003 11:33 am (UTC)
Oh..actually, he did get me a massage package (20 sessions) 2 xmas ago..absolutely loved it :D. and I do have a package with Spa Esprit (used them for my prenatal massages) and I havent completed it yet so the remaining massages can be converted to normal massages :P..

Give more ideas hehe..(hubby does read my LJ hehe)

Playstation is still better than the "magnetic waist belt" dh got me last year! Now let's see...wat's the guy hinting at?!!! This year...I was smarter...I requested for a digicam in advance!

BTW, are you bringing your little one with you on your hols? just curious...
Jul. 10th, 2003 07:36 pm (UTC)
hahaha..OMG! Ok, your husband wins hands-down *kowtow*..yeah..a magnetic waist belt would be him hinting somethin major man and boy, would i take that to whack my hubby if he does give that to me *grin*
Yeah..a digicam is what u call a really good gift (that is if u dun already have one)..very functional and 'enjoyable' too.

The thing is..I've got most of the stuff I want -cept for the TOTO winning numbers.. [the only other thing I'd ever craved for - an Osim massage chair is out of reach coz there's no space in the house :( ] Honestly, if he had asked me this year, I will really be hardpressed to name anything..

Australia is good for couples with kids. Super child friendly and you will always find a diaper changing station or breastfeeding room.

In HK!! Can die.. Wanted to bf Macy in a changing room and the salesgirl told me no. Directed me to the nursing room which is as bad as the photo I posted earlier.... Wait till she has her own kids and has to bf!!!
Jul. 10th, 2003 07:40 pm (UTC)
Mong..not gonna bring Aidan this time round..will do so at the end of the year together with my other couple friends/w kids...

I guess she must be thinkin if u are bfeedin in changing room, it means 1 changing room occupied and more waitin for customers..well, at least she bothers u offer u an alternative ..some other salesgirl may just bochap abt ur predicament..
Jul. 10th, 2003 07:52 pm (UTC)

aiyah, this boy always pretend to be shy..especially when someone else is carryin him..He'll look at me coyly and then when I look him in the eyes or talk to him, he'll turn and cover his face into the person's chest and hide and then look up at me again and flutter eyelashes....chum.
