dilemma, dilemma...

Ever since our previous booked tour to Japan got cancelled, I've been procrastinating on picking our substitute holiday plan..

Having a tough time deciding where I wanna go now.Have been asking hubby what he wants and his answer is always.."Anything..Up to you!"..Bah!..And I'm so flippant..one minute I'm more inclined towards Australia ..to relax and freeze my butt off but in the next instance, I start thinking that Europe would be a good choice sounds [& Paris is so romantic] but I've always wante to go to Japan..*arghh* Choices, choices!

a) Sydney & Melbourne (7 D) [free & easy]
Never been to Sydney ..heard it's really nice..
Been to Melbourne..love it there...Planning to go skiing at Mount Buller and spending abt 3 nights at Crown Towers..Gonna be more of a relaxing trip for this choice..

* tickets to Melbourne & Sydney fully booked till early next month *wail*...
** Hubby called after reading my journal and said if he really really have to make a choice, he would leave out Australia since we are travelling w/out Aidan now so we should make the best of it and go further since we can always go to Sydney & Melbourne with the li' one sometime next year especially since it's so nearby :)

b) Switzerland + Paris (10D) [tour]
Haven't been to both places but hubby has..he ain't that keen on Switzerland..said it's boring but added that Paris is nice..Looks kinda hectic tho..

c) Japan - Hokkaido & Tokyo (7D) [tour]
This is a more scenic option where one gets to witness the bloom of lavenders in Hokkaido..Lotsa gardens and temples to look at..and 2 nights at Tokyo with one day spent in Disneyland..Honestly, I'm not really into flowers and beautiful landscapes..hmmm..I'm more of an urban sorta person.

d) Vancouver (free and easy) and maybe the Canadian Rockies..
This is more to indulge hubby since he has never been there ..though it's summer now, probably abt 31 to 32 degrees so it's gonna really warm tho less humid than Singapore..

e) New York & Niagara Falls (9D) [tour]
Haven't been to both places..Always wanted to check out what New York's like and seein the falls will be great too..

------------------------------------------------------

Ever since alisonrae posted the link of this blog on her LJ, the blog's url has been passed around and it caused a 'minor uproar' with the mummies on this online parenting community ...everyone was raving about how romantic and sensitive the writer is and wishing that their spouses could be just like him..

Well,I have to admit..I had the same thoughts too. Sometimes, it will so great if my husband would be more vocal and expressive with his feelings and write beautiful prose and poetry for me..But for him, having to write a 50 words 'essay' on a birthday card was already torturous. That was one of requests for one of my birthdays and he ended up writing Happy Birthday Angie!! repeatedly till it reached the 50 words quotient *sigh* And the only sort of poetry he can recite is of the "Why is the sky so high, birdshit in the eye, knnbccb" ilk..Oh, and you should hear the teochew ditties that he sings to Aidan, it will make u blush (well, that is if u understand the dialect)..!

But still..I shouldn't complain. Although he ain't that open and vocal abt his feelings, he is still a wonderful husband who never fails to make me laugh at his corny jokes and be moved by the little things he does that shows that he cares ...and I so love the way he is with Aidan..an involved daddy whose highlight of the day he says, is to come back home and see the li' one smiling at him...

Hmm...hubby's asking me where I would like to go for my birthday dinner..Darn, it's been a while since I went for fine dining..and with all the restaurants closing and new ones reopening, I really don't know which places have nice ambience and good food..will probably have to refer to 8 days as a guide :P..

------------------------------------------------------

(Proof that Aidan doesn't always have a dao expression.....)

Daddy's Home..

Someone's at the door...

Love me Love me~!

Hmm..will I look as craggy as u in 30 years time??

Yeah..sometimes I do get a li' jealous coz Aidan seems to reserve the biggest and brightest smile for his dad..

[hmm..is eating fruits in the middle of the night considered snacking? I'm hungry :( ]

You are lucky to have a good husband who loves u :)

Aidan looks so cute in that blue outfit :P i guess he reserve his smile for daddy because he only gets to see Daddy at the end of the day and sees mommie all the time.. or maybe it's the guys bonding thing :P hehehe

Switzerland is not interesting at all. . u should choose Paris and Amsterdam :)

Yeah..I think finding the spouse with the same wavelength as u is very important and we do click well with each other..

It's probably the end of the day thingy..it helps that hubby is always wearin a huge smile too whenever he sees Aidan so both of them will always start clowning about..

Ya..most pple say Switzerland is boring. But i guess i probably will go Europe another time..it's high chance that it's gonna be Australia..

Honestly, I didn't even realised they matched till I started taking the pics. It really wasn't intentional..tho for his sleep wear, I do like to buy those colorful pjs from Mothercare :)

Oh yeah..shopping in Australia is something I'm looking so forward too. Eh but during winter, do they just sell winter clothings or can I buy some summery stuff?
Yeah..am planning to stay one night at Mt Buller too..(if I'm goin Australia)..that night is probably to recover from the day's skiing :P..Havent skied for a while and I'm sure I'm will be falling all over. Cant wait to see my hubby on the hills..:P.

Wow, that blog guy is really poetic and a true blue SNAG! Ack, makes me feel neanderthal by comparison! :\

LOL! I can relate to your hubby's humour. Eh, corny jokes are great pick-me-ups doncha think? It works for my gf too. Hiak hiak.

Aidan looks really cute and smiley in these pics. Thank goodness the TPH look is not a permanent fixture huh? Geez, you really do colour coordinate him! Blue jammies, bed sheets, doggy ... :)

erm, that's a hippo not a dog btw *grin*

Heh..actually, you are pretty up there in the 'Snag scale'..that buying of lingerie (tho I think it's more for u then for her) was what clinched it i guess.. but yeah, but in comparison with him....

Hiaks..well, I try as much to not roll my eyes too much at his corniness but sometimes..they do perk me up :)..like how it perks up ur gf too :)

hi angelia,...
syd is freezing atm...i live here so i can tell u what its like...
but u must see the beautifulllll sydney harbour at night as well as daytime. the bridge looks amazing at night with the bright city lights and the opera house. i hav been here 14 yrs and it never fails to mesmerise me. u can take ferry rides to beautiful beaches, scenic lookouts etc. umm, can be romantic too... stay at hotels on the harbour if can afford..expensive but the view is 2 die 4. shopping is great of courze....and wonderful exotic mix of food...darling harbour has great restaurants, cafes.
but yeh, if u choose syd as ur destination, i'll let u kno of all the cool spots 2 hit. hav fun !!

Yeah..I know it's freezin ..that's why the hesitation but I do like the cold tho it would mean I have to go buy more jackets/sweaters since those I have don't fit into them anymore :(

But ya, I heard Sydney is really beautiful..that's why I've been wanting to go there. I'm okay with a really nice hotel..one by the harbour sounds great. Do u have any to recommend? Will check out travelasia.com to see if they have any good rates then.

There is a high chance I would choose Australia since my bro and sis-in-law had said that they are planning to go there abt the same time too (got pple to help us take pics and vice versa hehe)..Once i confirm, i would definitely check out with u on where to go in Sydney!!!! Thanks!

Why not Austria? I was there for my honeymoon almost 3 years ago. Agreed with my hubby we will go back there with our daughter in around 5 years' time.

Austria is really beautiful, makes you really feel like you are in place where no words can describe! There's this movie whereby Robin Williams stared in, which has this very beautiful scenary alsmot throughout the show..(can't remember the name, but if you do remember, it always remind me of Austria and vice versa)
angeliatay
Jul. 17th, 2003 04:38 pm (UTC)
I guess the reason why not Austria is because I don't see any such tours in the papers at the moment..
Hee..everytime I hear of Austria, I think of Sound of Music and Julie Andrews singing in the fields. Hmm, u could be referrin to Robin Williams in "What Dreams may Come" or "Dead Poet's Society"..I remember both shows have beautiful scenery..

I love aidan's smiling face! Eh, you know, in the second pic (left) he looks like he has TEETH hehehehe.

We went to Alaska and the Canadian Rockies a while ago...
Alaska was, er, cool (no pun intended). Rockies - nice and relaxing! But lots of driving woah... Somemore we were mad and drove from Vancouver to Rockies; damn siong!
On the way back to Vanc, we stayed at Okanagan Valley - lots of wine, nice place too!

Switzerland... hmmmm... can be quite boring for city souls hehe. But Paris is LOVELY. Or, how about Eastern Europe countries? Very much cheaper and also quite romantic! I enjoyed Prague very much.

Jul. 17th, 2003 03:06 pm (UTC)
Now that u mentioned it, yeah hor..it does look like he has teeth..he also looks like he has bottom teeth in the first pic too..

When did u go to Alaska btw? If it's Autumn/winter/Spring..yeah.will definitely be cold. I went to the Canadian Rockies before..love it, especially Banff. But it must have been siong to drive from Vancouver..what we did was to fly to Calgary and drove to the rockies from there..much nearer.

Was Prague really nice? During my uni days, I'd wanted to visit Prague and Warshaw since I'd studied so much abt them but dunno, not much inclination now. One thing abt Europe tours..they tend to bunch lotsa cities together and it looks really hectic. I'm lookin for a idyllic holiday..dun wanna rush from one place to another..

i have been following tribolum for quite a while already but that's mostly because of his photography. he is rather on the romantic and idealistic side but in all honesty that is the exception rather than the norm, be it in singapore or any part of the world. i think what's most important is that a partner loves, respects and provides for you. he may not do it as romantically as you would like but he meets your needs and appreciates you for the person that you are. if all relationships are based on it's romantic quotient then i'd say way too many fall short...

Jul. 17th, 2003 10:03 pm (UTC)
Yeah, men like him are few and far between..Anyway, not all women go for romantic men tho..cavemen tactics have worked for ages so hehe..

But u know...esp for those who has been married for ages, such a man is like a breath of fresh air..coz by that time, your hubby feels like this old and familiar pillow which u always take to bed everynight ..erm, mebbe not the best analogy... it's that everything is just so familiar and routine already...

Heh. Think the guy's really sweet and all but I suppose it'll be a little sick if it's overdone as well. Anyways, in regards to the card, I thought it was really cute and witty of him to write "happy birthday angie" over and over again. Think that would have made me laugh till my tears came out. HEh . =)

*gush* Aidan looks really really really good and cute in the bluish pj !!! Love his smile!1 *smmoch*.hehhehe...

heh..when I saw the card, I was like..aiyoh, so typical of hubby. I sorta guess he would do something like that..the other time, I said I wanted him to fill up the card with words, he wrote in the card with huge big fonts - Happy Birthday..! I give up askin him to write stuff in my birthday card liao..Now, if I get a card, I steal laugh already..

Hehe..Yeah..always really good to see that bugger smiles/laugh..coz he's always so..stern looking.

I'll definitely take the Hokkaido trip! I wanted to go there way more than Tokyo, but that time no money la! So settled for Tokyo, where I had free accomodations. Plus the weather there would be lovely now eh?

hee..u will take anything Japan-related lah *grin*..I think it's nice in Hokkaido, where it doesnt rain and apparently, the lavenders are beautiful in July and sunflowers bloom in August (but I'm not really a flower person) but it's apparently pretty rainy in Tokyo.
Still undecided..gonna make hubby choose..bleah..(yeah, I;m too fickle)
