Finally, managed to catch a Budak Pantai gig when I joined issyleus, moxielass, andrewchia and burbur at Blue Moo for Budak's CD launch yesterday evening.</a>The first time I heard them was a few years back at SAM..and they were singing X'mas carols with their unique brand of a capella. Well, I recognised them when isseyleus introduced the group to us some time last year because one of the members, Michael whom many may recognise as the witty fella who stole the limelight from FD in one of the eps of WWTBAM. Actually, I recall Michael as one of of the Fame Awards finalists, which was donkey years ago so most of u probably won't remember..
Anyway, they sounded great ...a li' unorganised (tho I think it was intentional) but quite spontaneous..My faves were Come Back to me, the Abba medley and their version of Emil Chau's wo shi zhen de fu chu wo de ai. I thought Gordon would have sounded even better if he had sang Leslie Cheung's Chase in Cantonese..The Double Js from Power98 was there too..Good to see our local djs support our local musicians. I guess Power98 was still a li' peeved abt the article by Paul Zach who criticised local radio stations for not championing local music and named their station as one of culprits.
Bought their new CD and am listening to it now :)..I think I take back what I said before them probably sounding nicer 'live'...It is definitely more 'polished' and very listenable on CD..:)
from left : Gordon, Michael and Joe..(thanks nic hehe)

[we were sitting right in front so I couldnt take all 5 of them together]
They may not look like the typical boyband but they sound much better, trust me :D~
