my boy :)

Woke up this morning and looked around for Aidan [he woke up in the middle of the night so I had to carry him to bed to nurse him]...Realised he wasn't sleeping next to me at all and so I quickly looked about and found him on the floor, gleefully playing with himself, chomping on one of my magazines. Darn..was surprised that he could get off the bed on his own without falling [head first] and was wondering how he managed to do so..

I then armed myself with the digicam and tried to encourage him to climb down the bed...and managed to take a shot of him doing so butt-and-feet first!! You can tell that the mattress part of the bed is quite a distance from the floor [abt 19 inches] . Not sure whether this is considered a milestone but I'm darn proud of the li' bugger..Hopefully, this means that we will have less accidents around the bed :D~

Here's the video of Aidan climbing down the bed..

So cute! At least he knows how to get down butt-first! The babies I know all went down head-first (the pain!) a couple of times before they got the idea.

I'd been encouraging him to use do the 'butt-first' move a few times when I'm in bed with him but i'm usually the one pushing his butt. He never did seem to want to try climbing down himself ..that's why i was so pleased that he remembered what I taught him and did it on his own :)

:) my grandmother had this "trick" she taught my sister... whenever she said "kah chung loh", my sister would turn around and lower her butt off the side of the bed to get to the floor... I'm impressed Aidan learnt it by himself!

Well done Aidan!! C has been pushing herself off the bed - butt first but my stupid bed is like 9inch thick so it's quite a distance from the floor. I'm totally freaked out. I guess babies do not understand fear hor?
Oct. 12th, 2003 09:48 pm (UTC)
actually aidan was a li' scared of the edge of my bed..he always pause a while whenever he gets to the edge..My bed is also v thick..the mattress is not that bad but the base is high so it measures abt 19 inches together..That's why I was surprised that he was able to do it without fallin off..

Claudia must have had a fun time climin outta the bed n freakin u guys out eh *grin*

Aidan is really so clever!!! From the video, can see that he see the end of bed, need to turn around, to come down!!! Definitely a milestone!!!
Oct. 12th, 2003 09:59 pm (UTC)
heh..i guess i just mark it as a milestone of sorts..he probably wanted to get down the bed really badly coz most ofthe time, when he sees the edge of the mattress, he'll stop and peer down for the longest time..
Oct. 12th, 2003 09:47 pm (UTC)

He did it pretty well, considering that it is rather high... for his height! But what a great moment, now captured on tape. Nicely shot, mummy Angelia...

heh thanks!
When I saw that, I immediately thought of Ethan's butt-first move which u captured a while back..I remember being so impressed by Ethan and was hoping that Aidan would be able to do the same..especially since my bed is kinda high..:)
