Starstuck

Spent the evening watching the annual Star Awards...I usually like to watch such shows so that I can see what the stars are wearing [same for shows like Oscars, Grammys etc, yeah, superficial me :) ]

No big surprises for the big awards. Best Actor: Li Nanxing -yeah expected! Best Actress to Huang Biren, another shoo-in imo. Chen HuiHui finally gotten her trophy after 6 yrs of waiting ..honestly, she should have gotten an award last yr but I guess better late than never.

Hmm..not really much big upsets with the exception of the Top 10 Fav Male artistes award. Some surprises were the exclusion of Tay Ping Hui and Terence Cao. At least TPH wasn't sulking but his ego must have been bruised. Their positions were replaced by Gurmit Singh (!) who was nominated just for his role as a kidney patient in a health drama and Billy Koh, a popular dj especially amongst the aunties. Christopher Lee also finally got back into the top 10 although he's been pretty low key this year compared to his high-profile performances last yr [and he failed to get in then]. Err..how did Michelle Saram managed to get into top 10 fav? I think Hype Records must have spent a bundle calling the hotline for both Michelle and Jeanette Aw [who won best newcomer] :P~. Some of the constants on the top 10 are Zoe, Fann, Li Nanxing,Chew Chor Meng and Phyllis Quek, especially for the latter who did not even appear in any MediaCorp production last yr since she was busy in Taiwan. Some of their supporters are really fanatics and I really wonder how much they spent calling in the hotline. Kids nowadays have lotsa $$ to spend.

The worst dressed female award should go to Jacelyn Tay for her weird candy-colored/striped get-up. She looked like a clown!! Funny..she's always been a pretty classy dresser..must be one of those mad stylists who wanted to make a fashion statement. Ivy Lee looked so different with that cropped hair-cut and tanned-look. I didn't even recognise her but I must say she looked very sexy though skinny. I thought Lee Nan Xing looked pretty suave & debonair in his tuxedo suit ..he seemed to have lost a fair bit of weight too which made him looked younger. For the first time too, he thanked his wife without prompting from his fans/the audience hehe which was cute.

Feeling pretty zonked out today. Probably have to do with me not getting enough sleep at night. Also, I am actually rather feeling 'gan-cheong' knowing that the baby's due real soon. It's pretty scary u know..I sometimes wonder whether I will be a good mother to Aidan. At times, I feel that I don't even know how to take care of myself at..,so how am I gonna take care of a baby?! I know hubby has his fears too as all these is so novel to us. Anyway, it's something that both of us have to go through together. The past 3 years of married life [w/o kids] have been great. In fact, we often say that it's amazing that the years have passed by so fast coz we always feel that we've just gotten married. The arrival of the baby would definitely change the r/ship and inevitably cause more stress..However,I also know having the kid would also bring joy to us too..:)
